Cars in German City Discovered Marked with Swastikas in Human Blood, Police Report

Police mentioned they were alerted by a resident who found a automobile in Hanau marked with red-colored fluid

Roughly 50 cars have been covered with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.

Vehicles, exterior walls and postboxes were marked, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they reported in a official communication.

Officers report they were contacted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a individual discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish substance.

The substance had been drawn in the pattern of a swastika, they reported.

Police then found numerous other marked automobiles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.

Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under regulations prohibiting the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Officials say early analysis indicate the fluid was probably blood from a person.

"At present there remains no indication as to its source; investigators are not yet informed of any harm in connection with the event," they stated.

Local authorities stated they were trying "to unravel the mystery" and have asked to the residents for details.

A high-ranking representative stated the attack left him speechless and had to be resolved promptly.

"This incident strikes at the core of Hanau and revives the wounds of the extremist attack in 2020," he wrote on social media, mentioning the murder of nine individuals by a gunman aiming at individuals of foreign heritage in 2020.
